An unusual maxillary first molar with six canals: a case report
Successful root canal therapy requires a thorough knowledge of root and root canal morphology1. The morphology and anatomy of the maxillary first molar have been extensively reviewed in the literature, revealing that this tooth may present a great variety of anatomical configurations2,3,4,5.

It is generally accepted that the most common form of the permanent maxillary first molar has three roots and four canals1,5. This case report presents a successful root canal treatment in a maxillary first molar with six canals.
